CASTLE PELES, RASNOV FORTRESS AND DRACULA'S CASTLES

The so-called 'Dracula's Castle' at Bran may be one of Romania's biggest tourist draws (Vlad Tepes's real hangout was actually Poienari in Wallachia) but there are better things to see. Head instead for the fin de siecle decadence of Peles, built by the doomed Hohenzollerns, or the hilltop fortress of Rasnov.
