HARBIN
Just northwest of Vladivostok, the Russian-influenced provincial capital Harbin hosts one of Asia's foremost annual snow and ice festivals. It is also the home of the world's biggest collection of the world's largest land predator, the Siberian (or Manchurian) tiger. And it's cold. Damn cold. January temperatures rarely top -10 degrees Celsius.
